Known as the center of youth fashion and pop culture, Takeshita-dori street (竹下通り) in Harajuku is a must visit if you go to Tokyo.
It can be hard to find the right stores to visit on a limited time frame so here is a compilation of some cool, trendy stores I enjoy visiting in Harajuku.
STYLENANDA sells Korean cosmetics, clothes and accessories. YES, I know this is not Japanese but it’s one of the prettiest stores on Takeshita-Dori and Japanese really love Korean cosmetics.
Atmos sells amazing sneakers and contemporary shoes.
There are various chains in Harajuku and Tokyo but this Atmos store sells particularly creative sneakers.
(me) is a really tiny store with gorgeous clothes and accessories. It is on the pricey side but they sell true Harajuku style.
Romantic Standard is also a very small store that has a range of vintage pieces and over-the top, quirky, modern garments.
Just don’t fall down the stairs when you’re first going in !
With a beautiful name and even more beautiful clothes- this is a really unique place to visit.
It feels a little bare inside- as if the store is too big for the clothes that it has but the pieces they sell are really cool. The staff are also very friendly and talkative.
I wonder if any strippers shop here…
